Rudy's is great but be sure to check out the huge specials board when you first walk in! The other night they had lamb chops special that was as beautiful as anything I have seen in NY and Jersey. I'm including a picture but it doesn't do the dish justice. The chops were artfully arranged along side a mound of homemade mashed potatoes with fresh sautéed spinach around it. Then a VERY generous amount of beautiful mushroom gravy poured on top. It was amazing and my husband got his medium-rare, just as requested.
Another very good restaurant along Route 13 on my regular list. Consistently good food at reasonable prices. Large menu and friendly service. Cream cheese bread is an unique treat. They expanded their footprint a couple of years ago so there is usually no wait.
I recommend Rudy's for breakfast. I've never eaten there for lunch or dinner. They do have some good specials. Frankly, their pancakes are the best and worth going there just for that.
My grl and I had burgers. She ordered hers well done and it was still red in the center. Inedible. On top of that the taste was that of a cheap frozen burger of some sort. Breakfast on the other hand I've heard is excellent.
Large restaurant with lots of seating. The food was ok, not horrible. The menu is about 7 pages long which makes me think that nothing is being prepared fresh. The staff is friendly and the prices are very reasonable. I would recommend this place for a quick bite. Just don't expect gourmet.
